Guest Room and Office Space

This is one of my favorite client projects I’ve helped with this past month!

The room doubles as a guest room and a home office, so during our consultation the family mentioned they wanted a murphy bed to conserve as much space as possible. Here’s a snapshot of the proposal I sent them for the room that included this along with everything else for the room (bed, bedding, shelves, desk units, and desk top).

Fun, right?Screen Shot 2018-08-31 at 10.04.05 PMWhen it came time to actually build the piece, I had to figure out how large I wanted the spaces for the chairs. I took a few measurements to make sure everything was spaced evenly and got to work building, sanding, staining, and sealing.

DONE!  It actually took a good couple of hours, even though that one sentence made it seem really fast and easy.  Haha.  Keeping it real for you.AF71B59D-7B5A-4CE3-9956-D6672185269FIt turned out really great though. PERFECT for this space! Oh, and we added some shelves (of course!) above to decorate and provide extra storage as needed.  Here’s the finished product! You can get a glimpse of the murphy bed unit in here too!IMG_582608D79413-61DC-4D66-A97B-F269F4E4B3AC522B9011-23F7-4898-AAB5-03F9C5AB1AF6B587B52F-534E-4E3E-BBCD-DA8533F1564BA61F384B-143E-4CAD-8A8F-CE4A00F3FB3B0FBBBC27-DDD1-42C7-89D0-66232D7017FE8188C994-3716-472F-9654-5E7A9761DD44IMG_5802
